No app to open, no dialog to fill in. The converted copy lands right next to the original, which is never touched.
Grab a file, or several, in Finder, on the desktop, or in any app that drags files.
A wheel of every format that file can become opens under your pointer, with the size in the middle.
Drop on a format. A small panel shows progress, then Finder selects the new file.
The same gesture opens a wheel of tools for whatever you're dragging. Drop on one and its editor opens right where you let go.
Drop several files at once and the wheel offers the formats they share. Each format keeps its own defaults for quality, bitrate, size and metadata.

The wheel only opens during a real drag. Press on the file and move it a little until you see it under the pointer, then hold Shift. Dragging straight out of the Photos app doesn't hand over a file; drag the photo to the desktop first.
Pick another modifier combination for either wheel in Settings → General → Drag Modifiers.
macOS asks every app once before it writes into Desktop, Documents or Downloads. Click Allow and Clementine can save beside your files there from then on.
